MATTHEW TYNAN

Matthew Tynan

MATTHEW TYNAN is a transactional attorney specializing in the preparation and negotiation of intellectual property and corporate agreements and the protection of client copyrights and trademarks. Areas of focus include film, television, publishing, fine art, photography and new media.

He is currently the Secretary of the Entertainment Law Committee of the NYC Bar Association.

Mr. Tynan has been a featured speaker on numerous CLE panels and public lectures including, most recently: From Panel to Publisher: Representing Comic Book Creator Clients (2017). He is a contributor to the book The Pocket Lawyer for Comic Book Creators (Focal Press) and one of the authors of a guide to Copyright Myths for the NYC Bar Association. Mr. Tynan was a judge of the Price Media Law Moot Court Competition. Publications include: Misblurb Marketing in Film and Publishing in the Cardozo Arts & Entertainment Law Journal.

Mr. Tynan earned his J.D. from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in 2012. Prior to law school, he worked in film production and development, and received his undergraduate degree from Oxford University.
