ANGELO DISTEFANO has transactional experience in all areas of entertainment and media including television, music, publishing, advertising, digital media, photography and other fine art. He regularly advises clients, including major media companies, on domestic and international trademark portfolio management and trademark licensing, including in Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia, the Middle East and South America, among other places. He counsels clients on copyright prosecution and protection, copyright licensing, issues of fair use and First Amendment considerations. He also advises media and entertainment clients on pre-publication clearance of editorial and branded video content, and the use of trademarks and titles in creative works and advertisements. He has extensive experience litigating intellectual property, right of publicity and breach of contract claims in both state and federal court, prosecuting and defending trademark opposition and cancellation proceedings before the U.S. Trademark Trial and Appeal Board, and representing clients in ICANN domain name dispute proceedings.
He graduated from Michigan State College of Law and Washington & Lee University.
He is admitted to practice in New York as well as the U.S. District Court of New York for the Southern District, U.S. District Court of New York for the Eastern District and the Second Circuit Court of Appeals.
